Earning Tuition Rewards with (MBN-USA)

Tuition Rewards are awarded directly to each student whom you enroll & sponsor on your Tuition Rewards account. Points are rewarded annually on the student’s birthday:

  • 1st through 11th birthday:  500 Points

  • 12th through 14th birthday: 750 Points

  • 15th through 17th birthday:  1,000 Points

As long as your customer renews the Customer’s Reward’s™/ MBN-USA family  savings program, the points will accrue until the students 17th birthday (or Aug. 31st of the year that the student begins the 12th grade.)

How does the program work?

Tuition Rewards accrue like “Frequent Flyer Miles.” Each Tuition Reward point is equal to $1.00 in scholarships* at a SAGE member school.  This represents the minimum scholarship that a sponsored student will receive if he or she attends a participating college. For example: if a sponsored student accrues 13,000 Tuition Rewards points, assuming that all program terms and conditions are met, this is a guarantee that the student will receive at least $13,000 in scholarships or other non-loan based financial aid, spread equally over four years of undergraduate education.

*Like “Frequent Flyer Miles,” Tuition Reward Points cannot be redeemed for cash.

Tuition Rewards Frequently Asked Questions:

  • You can sponsor as many students as you would like in Tuition Rewards as long as they are a family member (child, grandchild, stepchild, niece, nephew, etc.)

  • Students must be registered in the program by August 31 of the year they begin 11th grade. The earlier you add the students in your family to Tuition Rewards, the more Tuition Rewards they will earn!

  • The maximum amount of Tuition Rewards accepted varies with each school but is generally up to 25% of the cost of tuition.

  • Tuition Rewards are redeemable only at the 230+ member schools.* Schools are constantly added to the program, but membership is open on to private, not –for-profit 4 year colleges & universities. State/public colleges (including community colleges) are not eligible to joint Tuition Rewards.*

  • A current list of participating colleges and universities can be found here.

 *As of 9-1-09

**State/public colleges generally do not discount tuition and do not awards financial aid (or very limited amounts) that is not based on a determination of "need." An advantage to attending a private college or university versus a state or public college/university is that studies have shown that the likelihood of graduating in 4 years tends to be 2.5 times higher at a private institution.
